Does Sven pick his team with the help of a Panini Sticker Album?

Fair enough we won tonight, but we hardly looked like world cup winners did we?

I know its a friendly, but two games away from the world cup, and he `experiments` with Carrigar in midfield!

How many years does he need to be in charge for to know his best team!

Maybe it will all come good, but its dam frustrating!

Carragher did OK in a role he doesn`t play in but you`re totally right - we`re one game away from the start of the World Cup and he`s still experimenting. :/
Thought Joe Cole was excellent. :)

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Should have played Carrick in defensive midfield role. He has been blinding for Spurs all season. Plus, why play Hargreaves?

Also, should have played Lennon rather than Walcottt. ;)

Giggity giggity!

I think Sven does not know a thing about football and uses sticker albums and football manager games to pick his teams. He always seems to go with the media hype. If the media suggests that a certain player is good, he will pick him no matter what. Playing Carragher in defensive midfield was stupid as we have good players who can already play in that position. Get carrick in there. He is a big strong lad (allbeit a bastard) and moves the ball about. I liked the idea of a 5 man midfield. It fits in well with our current striker crisis and it also gives us more creativity. I dont think ive ever seen Lumpard miss a penalty and was delighted to see him miss. We created quite a few chances and overall I thought we were very good. Of course in the world cup, we will step up a few gears, we always do. Owen will start scoring and we will be a force to be reckoned with. Defense still looks a little dodgy, we shouldnt have conceeded that goal.Rio is too arrogant and laid back. We need someone who is hard working in defense like carragher to partner John Terry. Cant afford to let in goals so cheaply. We must protect the goal like it is our chest and each goal we conceed is a bullet.

I agree, as ian wright said at half time, if your a striker and a player like Carrick wins the ball, you look to make a run straight away, if Carragher wins it, whats the point. He played well, but you need the other part of the game in that role too, which of course, is attacking.

Walcott did nothing lennon would not have done better.

It will be interesting to see what he does on Saturday.

Crouch looked good, which i was surprised at, seen him againts West Ham twice this year and we defended him well, but he looked good last night, but as we saw from the two goals, there were not very good at the back were they.

I think Sven should buy a more recent sticker album!!

Who cares who Sven picks.. England are not going far anyway.. Since Sven`s been sacked, he`ll stick his two fingers up to the FA lot and have the last laugh.. why should he give a dam..

Because if he has a stinker he will find it very hard to get the super high paid work he likes after the world cup, especially so if he`s seen to sabotage it on purpose, you dumbass. This world cup is probably more important to him than the last as hes putting himself in the international shop window. If he wins the WC he could name his price at any club in the world.

Svens got a lot to play for. Mainly his pension fund, his bank balance and his many holiday homes, but they can be powerful motivators.

Am I looking at a different player then? He is the ugliest bloke on earth!!! BTW that dance is irritating already.
I dont quite understand how England are now suddenly second favourites to win the World Cup after beating a team so inferior to them that they may as well have been playing my local pub team.

I agree with alot of whats been said though. Particuarly the suggestion that Sven picks his team according to who the media are hyping up this week.
