I don`t think FutureEnt ship from the UK either. I got an email yesterday about my order and it said it ships directly from the US, see below. I think all these types of sites baiscally act as a broker, setting up a personal import for you. They make the order on your behalf, but have it shipped to you directly, so you benefit from your customs allowances, and they never handle the item.

It they shipped them here and held them in stock in the UK, then they would be liable for import duty on them, and couldn`t do the prices they do. That`s how it seems to work to me anyway :-)

Email from FutureEnt:
"We are pleased to tell you the following have been despatched to you today:

You can check the progress of your order at any time by
visiting the web site and clicking the `Order Status` link.

Please allow up to 10 days for goods to arrive from date of
despatch before pursuing any item(s). All goods are directly
despatched from North America and, whilst the majority
arrive within 2 working days, some items may be subject to
customs clearance hold-ups and can take slightly longer to
reach you."

From what I am aware there are none or none that can admit to it anyway. R1 have to come from outside the uk.
As per post above futurent don`t, you just have the impresion they do.(i think they use a forwarding process in the uk)

Well, my FutureEnt order arrived today, not bad considering it was ordered late on Saturday night. But I wasn`t impressed with the packaging compared to CD-WOW`s. It arrived in a padded/bubble envelope, although the bubbles were very thin and gave little protection, and the DVD had fallen out of it`s holder in the case.

The envelope showed it as being posted in the UK, but the invoice inside was from a US company, so I`m not sure how they work it. Maybe they hold stock in Imprest (where they hold stock on the shelf here but it`s still owned by the supplier until sold), and then when it`s sold they get a fee from the US supplier???

Maybe that would allow them to get around custom regs because they haven`t actually bought it, they just hold it for the US company, but it allows them to shorten delivery times.

Have asked Future recently about that.
They get the package from US Retailer and repack it in the UK.

I had another thought about this the other day when my lastest order came from them. The invoice states the company is AG Express in Mississagua Canada. But the envelope is the UK address. So I was wondering if they work it like company stores often do using Imprest Stock.

This is where you hold the goods on your shelves, but ownership stays with the supplier until the goods are sold. So stock is where it`s needed for things to be done quick, but it still belongs to the supplier until sold/used.

I wonder if that would get them around being able to have them stored in the UK, if they were just a holding point for the US stock. I suppose duty wouldn`t be due until they were paid for, and the fee is invoiced to the US company.

Just a thought.

Play hold their R1 stock in Brussels (offshore so not deemed to have passed therough customs). However if you order an instock item always seems to arrive 2 working days later, which is normally as good as Futureent.

However only downside is customs risk if item over £17.99, it appears to be very rare to be hit for one of their orders, but can happen and now unfortunately the no longer refund customs charges.

If you are prepared to wait Movietyme repost in UK so no customs risk but as no stock here, comes direct from US expect around 5 days for delivery of an instock item (however can`t tell from their site)

Its illegal to sell new region 1 disks from locations within the uk because of some stupid ruling so all reputable dealers who sell region 1 dvds ship them from somewhere on the continent, anyone who doesnt is breaking the law and should probably be avoided.
