Dab.com Crap service

Paull (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 18th April 2002, 10:33

I ordered a couple of speakers on Dabs.com. It said 3 days delivery, on the third day I looked at the status of the order, it said `awaiting delivery` this was not said at the time of ordering. I phoned them to find out when the speakers were comming, I was kept in a queue for 35 minutes, I learnt later that they charge .8p a minute so this cost me £2-80. They said they did not know when the speakers would be in so I asked to cancel, they said it had to be done over the internet. My wife & I searched for ages but nowhere did we find cancel orders. I think they stink & will never use them again.

You should have known that they were crap from the name DABS

A dab is a flat fish which is a dead give away that this company would "flounder" from the start.

I agree though. I tried to use them once and they were a complete shambles when it came to delivering.

I learnt my lesson the hard way unfortunately. But at least I know for future - GIVE EM HELL

well they are a computer hardware crowd and are usually okay for that unlike Jungle who can take ages to get around to telling you that they can`t get it.

I`ve used Dabs a few times for both large and small items and have never had any problems with either the company or deliveries.

I`ve been using Dabs for the past 4 years and never had any problems with deliveries or otherwise. They have gone WEB sales only now which is why no one on the phone can help in returning items.

EDIT: to cancel Items you need to click on the " Order Status" icon on the top left and login to show your items waiting to be processed. Cancel the one you want to from there.

Have to agree with you old boy. I have also been using Dabs for many years and no major problems yet with at least 10-15 orders placed with them.

Most recent was the bargain Samsung ML1250 laser printer for £117 inc free delivery and it arrived the next day!
The printer is a cracker (12ppm , 1200x600dpi, PCL6, USB and Parallel etc) and comes with an extra toner cartridge free.

I did have a minor problem once when I collected an item whilst visiting family nearby. I discover the product was faulty upon return to London and I had to pay the return postage - but I have since found this is standard policy with many mail order retailers.

I have ordered a few items and am staring at my very nice 17" Samsung Total Flat monitor which I got from Dabs.

No problems here so far.

I am not excusing there bad customer care, but I think with these firms who charge very cheap prices, they are very short on staff so they can keep costs down.

I think this is the price we have to pay to get cheap products. You ether order over the internet and save money but keep your fingers crossed or buy in a shop and pay more.
