Retailer Reviews Forum
I have $50 bucks sat in my DVDSoon account after they refused to send me a LOTR box set ages ago.
It says on their site I can have a credit card refund and this is the info off the refund page:
October 6, 2005
Dear Customer,
Using credits
You can now fully use your DVDSoon.com credit for items in an order. However, other charges such as shipping fees can only be paid by credit card. Therefore you must fill out the payment details for each order, even if you have credit available. When you place your order, we will pre-authorize your credit card in order to validate it. Please note that some financial institutes can display the pre-authorization on your monthly statement.
Refunds
You can now obtain a refund on your credit card. For those who have already submitted a refund request by check, you can modify your request in the "Credit Refund Request" section. Please note that you will be contacted by e-mail when you are requested to submit your credit card details.
The DVDSoon.com Team
As you can see, this is dated Oct 6th but I`m sure I read somewhere they were only sending cheques now?? Obviously pretty useless as it costs about £15 to pay in a foreign currency cheque.
It also says I can still use credit to buy stuff and they will refund any difference. If I could order something I knew would be shipped quickly I probably would?
Thanks in advance.
why take life so seriously..its not like you are going to make it out alive
Oh dear... there`s a fairly hefty DVDSoon thread (or two) around here somewhere, I seem to remember that they may in fact have gone under by now - post being returned to senders and so on. My £15 certainly never got refunded. Bastards.
"Hmm, new teeth, that`s weird. So where was I? Oh that`s right, Barcelona..."
Doctor Who will return in... The Christmas Invasion
I did read the other thread which is why i don`t understand the offer of a credit refund.
Not sure whether to just order something and see if it turns up or not?

RE: DVDSoon - HELP Please!!!
If you charged the amount to a credit card you may still be able to do a charge back, you will have to be persistant but your provider should know DVDSOON as most people did chargebacks months ago. The reason for the chargeback is that "goods were paid for, but not supplied" you must also show that you have tried to get a refund or DVDSOON are not giving you one.
However you may have left it too late as chargebacks should be done within a set period of time. I don``t think there are any other options open as this bunch of crooks (and I use that term carefully) appear to have no intention of doing anything that they say on their site.

Thanks for the advice....I have plenty of email contact from them with all sorts of excuses. It`s just one of those things where they said one thing was happening, then the refund option disappeared, then I forgot about it etc etc!
I will try the chargeback route, luckily it`s only £25 but that`s MY £25! >:(

RE: DVDSoon - HELP Please!!!
I had about CA$30 of credit still with them, but they had frozen my account due to the chargeback requests I had initiated so I was unable to access it. F***ing thieves. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

RE: DVDSoon - HELP Please!!!
Absolutely shocking company. Loved holding onto my money for months on end without sending me my product. If any of you used credit cards to buy from these cowboys I`d get chargebacks done asap.
