Has anyone ordered from DVDSoon.com

A post in the bargains thread got me thinking. Has anyone ordered from DVDSoon since the big chargeback fiasco over the past months? If so, how did you get on with them?

Are they back up and running again?

I haven`t personally, given that I`ve done a successful chargeback and have got out of my relationship with DVDSoon with the shirt on my back still in tact, thanks to Nationwide Credit Card services, but there are others less fortunate in the chargeback stakes who are using DVDSoon again just to try and recover their money. I suggest you check out DVDSwaps and DVDForums where a lot of this activity is being logged. To be fair stuff is being shipped.
Even if it wasn`t for the debacle, they are totally uncompetitive now especially once you add on their postage charges. The only way of avoiding the postage charge and get free postage is to pay a Customs fee instead!
Do you really want to take a gamble with this mob again after all that`s happened over the last few months? What`s the old saying
`Rip me off once - shame on you. Rip me off twice - shame on me!`

^ Ditto. I have managed to get my money back (almost £100) through a chargeback, and am not going near these guys again. It`s a shame really - I used to order absolutely everything R1 from them - they were (at one time) the dog`s b`s. But things aren`t looking good there lately and they look like a company about to go under. Thanks for the memories... :(

I used to think they were brilliant. 99% of the DVD`s I bought came from them. It`s such a shame what happened to them. I`d still be buying s***loads now, and still building up my DVD collection.

^ Same here. :( I`ve been able to claim back the cost of one DVD so far, am waiting for another and have store credit worth about $50 which will (hopefully) be posted out in a cheque which will cost me money to pay in, but at least I`ll have the money and not them.

I`ve just been to DVDSoon to login to my account and I no longer have one! :o >:( Anyone else had this problem?

I emailed them about this problem and received the following reply:

Dear Sir;

I have verified and your account was placed on hold by the legal
department. They have recently received a charge back request from
your
credit card company and are presently investigating the situation. If
you have requested a charge back please send a signed letter stating
the
amount you have received as a refund by your credit card company. Once
we receive this information we will removed the amount we have issued
as
a refund and unlock your account. From there you will be able to
access
your account and request a refund for the remaining credits.

You can fax this letter 1-450-449-7380 or send it by mail to:

I placed an order with them on Saturday, and I still haven`t had a confirmation email, and neither is there any indication in "My Account" that I`ve placed the order.

I just tried emailing ofni[at]moc.noosdvd (the email they give you on the website) and got the following failure notice:

"Hi. This is the qmail-send program at crown.mail2box.com.
I`m afraid I wasn`t able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I`ve given up. Sorry it didn`t work out.

<ofni[at]moc.noosdvd>:
Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)"

Encouraging, huh? My credit card hasn`t been charged yet, but it is a pre-order, with release on Nov 15th.

Let us know how you get on sput.

Would love to be able to use them again if they could get back to what they were. I`m willing to forgive and forget if they can only improve their service to match other top online retailers.

I ordered Homicide Life on the Street Season 6 several months ago only for them to tell me they didn`t have it (after about three months!) So as part of this Chargeback fiasco I ordered a few items that amounted to slightly more than the amount due. So that I could pay the difference and be done with them. I was then told while making the order, that I couldn't have all my credit in one order I sent them an e-mail querying this. This was their reply

Quote:
Dear Sir;

Our apologies for the confusion. Your credit will be automatically applied to only 25% of cost of the products in the package, before shipping costs and taxes, each time a parcel ship. There are no additional step required to request that this credit be used. The remainder will be charged to your credit card at the time of shipment.
Unfortunately this is presently not possible to bypass our present system. Please understand that in the new system a credit will only be issued for compensation purposes. In the new system you will only be charged at the time of shipment so manipulation of "credits" like in the old system will not be necessary.

We would like to advise you that the refund form is now available on our site. You can locate it on the left hand side in your "My Orders" section (last link in the box). Please fill out all the required fields placing a dash ("-") in the fields that are not necessary for your country. Please do refrain from using N/A as this will be the address printed on the envelope. Please be certain to request your refund as soon as possible as all requests made after October 31st at 11:59 pm GMT
-5 will not be filled.

On November 1st all available non-refundable credits will be withdrawn from your DVDSoon account and will be issued in form of a check. It will take 6 - 8 weeks for DVDSoon to treat, print and send the checks. Please understand that we do not retain your credit card details so this is the quickest solution to the refund requests we have been receiving.

Can somebody tell me what this means I think they just want to wear me down so that I won`t give a sh*t and abandon it (they seem to be winning by the way as I received this e-mail about a month ago, and have been just too busy at work to sort it out)
