DVDSoon Processing Time Records

bigkahunas (Competent) posted this on Friday, 22nd July 2005, 16:08

Whats the longest anyone`s waited for stuff to be dispatched/processesed from DVDSoon?

I am currently waiting on 3 parcels which i ordered on the 25 June, and they are still "Pending".

I`m starting to get really annoyed with them, as the only reason i`m waiting on those 3, is the fact that i waited over a month for my other 3, which i cancelled to order something else i thought i`d get quicker!

Mods:: I understand this is another DVDSoon thread, feel free to delete if you really wish. I Just wanted to vent some anger for a change!

I don`t know how long I`ve waited, but what I *hate* about DVD Soon is the way they state things are in stock (or something like "instock - 48-72 hours) and when you order it it`s status becomes `on order` for weeks. Blatantly meaning they didn`t have it in stock in the first place. I`m currently awaiting around 15 backorders, all of which were `in stock`.

Tossers.

*Update*
Earliest back order I have is June 3rd. :(

It is a ploy to generate interest from your money. They hold onto money for no other reason. I never go near them.

I couldn`t agree with you more Lee. They hold on to your money and hold on to it and hold on to it and.....i won`t go on. Don`t go near them. They change terms and conditions on offers too. One minute a fidelity Card Member gets FREE shipping on everything then the next minute on slected items. Their Customer Service is non existant - they just don`t listen to complaints and take them seriously!

I have two pending orders from the 12 May. All state the titles are on order but their website is stating that one of the titles is "In Stock".

They cancelled three orders a couple of weeks ago stating that any orders greater than 60 days are automatically cancelled since they cannot get the titles.

Since I have three titles pending greater than 60 days this is evidently just another load of BS from DVD Soon. One of the cancelled orders was for a title only released a couple of months ago and widely available, and even DVD Soon state it is "In Stock" on their website at the moment.

I think the real reason they cancelled the orders was because they didn`t want to supply the titles at the prices I originaly paid, after they increased the prices on all their dvds and removed the free shipping some weeks later.

I have requested a refund but it takes 21 days! Another way for them to hold onto your money to generate interest >:(

I won`t be using DVD Soon again!

I got a refund once and they worked it out to be £1.50 less than wot I paid them. They blamed the exchange rate, yeah sure it was exactly £1.50 less I believe them. NOT!

More money earned by them by supplying me with a total shoddy service.

Judging from some of the things people are saying, I think I may stop ordering from them. Problem is, if I cancel my orders now then I can only get back my money back as credit. >:(

Just an update...

Seems that the liquidation of a company who may (or may not) be a supplier of DVD`s to the company might have seriously affected them. Check the DVD Soon forums here... and they aren`t the only forums to have concerns from the looks of things. It seems odd that so many of my orders are `on order` when previously at least some have been `in transit`.

I would advise people to NOT order from them for a while; I am just worried about the preorders I have got because they have now removed the credit card refund function from the site too. This means you can only get store credit, which might as well be useless at this moment. :(
