FUTUREENT.COM - Are they any good?

sportsmimic (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 6th June 2001, 00:26

Just had a browse around futureent.com site and they seem very competitive. Can anyone tell me what they are like, i.e speed of delivery, hidden costs etc.
They also have a section of cheap discs - are these region 1 or 2?
Please help me, you are my only hope!

I`ve bought loads of their cheap R1`s and had them delivered inside a week(exceptionally, one order did take 2 weeks!). Pre-orders generally get to me a day after release! Don`t think they do any R2 stuff. BTW, the ZZ in front of the last few pages` titles in the cheap section, mean they have yet to be released.

No hidden costs, all factory sealed, free delivery, gets listed on your Ccard as `personal imports` (not futureent). The invoices are marked from A.G. Express in Mississauga, North America - Futurents suppliers I presume, but the address label is Royal Mail from Sittingbourne in Kent. As they are posted in the UK there is no worry over customs duty etc. Wot you see is very much wot you get. It`s as simple as that. I can only recommend them and have not had to query a bill or send stuff back

I`ve had Blair Witch Project and Hollow man, £6.99 and £11.99 respectively. They both arrived promptly, and with no postage charge were superb value. I count them in my top 3 companies to order from and their bargain Region 1 disks are many, varied and really cheap. They send regular update e-mails if you register, and together with Ezydvd and Play247 (both superb), have saved me a small fortune. Highly recommended!! Poor old ``Star` were onto a loser with the service provided by these three!

Ordered quite a few discs from here, I would rate them alongside Play247 for quality, price and speed of delivery.

Me too. Only ordered one DVD from them but it was cheap and arrived fine and in good time. Only problem I had was it was a damn cardboard CD case and got bent ever so slightly in the jiffy bag (not strictly their fault but annoying nonetheless) I`ll shut up now.

No need to shut up WP...twas a good point and very well made. I`ve had this problem with other suppliers, although all R1 DVDs I`ve ordered from various places have been of tougher stock.

If I remember I the payment was taken from my account the day the DVD actually arrived. So I guess they initiate paying procedures the day they send the DVD out to you.
