Yay for Richer Sounds

I went to my local (ish) Richer Sounds store on Saturday - I was very impressed - lots of cheap AV equipment and plenty of friendly happy staff. I came away with a bargain Gale Moviestar 3 speaker set (birthday present from the missus) and some lovely thick speaker cable. Now all I need is my lovely new amp and a shiny subwoofer!

But - YAY for Richer

:D Quite right kipster. Been shopping at Richer Sounds for years - great bargains, friendly, helpful staff and definately NO hard sell, even with optional extra warranty, which incidentally is bags cheaper and a great scheme too compared to the other stores.

Yup, Big Up for the Richer Boys..

Go there for a browse (albeit small stores I know), you may get a lollypop from the staff for your efforts!

Just bought a Panasonic E55 DVD Recorder for £220 at Richer. Haven`t yet seen anyone else come close to this.

Saw it in Currys and Dixons for £280.

Also got the 3 year warranty (loan machine while fixed) for £30 (refunded if not used)...

Excellent. Wish I`d found them years ago.

Been using Richer Sounds for years - great value, good warranties, helpful and knowedgable staff and free lollies! Last visit, I came out with about ten of them to go with my new DVD recorder!

Same with me. It`s the only place I go to get my hi-fi/home cinema equipment. 8)

When I bought my home cinema system (Toshiba DVD player, Sherwood receiver and Mission speakers) from them a few years ago they cocked up the price in a big way.
They undercharged me by over £200 and being one of their package offers it was already at a great price as it was.
Of course I didn`t realise the mistake until many, many months later. ;)

I don`t know what the legal situation was but I was expecting them to contact me to try and make me cough up for the shortfall, which they didn`t. Big thumbs up to them. :)

Yeah, ive used Richer for a while now and i cant fault them.

Once i had blown up some missions at a party so i was on the look out for some more. I went into richer and they kept trying to sell me some floor standing Gales, which i admit were pretty nice. But since i listen to most of my music in MP3 format, i wanted some more missions as they warm up MP3`s. The bloke thought i was talking out my arse, but after a straight speaker for speaker test, he conceded that the Mission 703`s did indeed sound better and that the gales bought out all the worst features in MP3 playback. He even chucked in some interconnects for giving him a lesson!

Richer is just great for that. And the listening rooms are great (i still cant understand why Dixons XL`s and the like cant fit one in.....)

The only complaint i have of them is that special offers on their web sites and mail shots are always out of stock.

I`m sure that on their last offer email, they had a guarantee that if an item was out of stock, they would give you a discount when the item became available.

Can't fault richer sounds.

I bought a pioneer DVD player just under 3 years ago and took advantage of their excellent £20 for 3 years guarantee.

Well, the player broke about a month before the guarantee was up, they arranged for a courier to collect it at their expense to repair it.

They could not repair it so offered me any player from their web site that was in stock. I got a brand new £250 Cambridge audio player (which just happened to be the most expensive on their site!).

They couriered it to my house (again at their expense), the thing was, the pioneer was 3 years old and the spec of it could be picked up in a player for about £80 these days.

I was well impressed, as you can imagine.

I buy all hi-fi equipment from them, they are cheap, cheerful and wont screw you around if anything goes wrong.

I have had a few issues with their products being out of stock, but they seem to be getting it sorted now. On one occasion, I had to try 3 stores to get what I wanted, when I got what I was after, I sent in the questionnaire praising them on all aspects, but politely mentioned the low stock issue. I got a personal reply from Julian Richer apologising and stating to call his office if I ever had any more stock problems and they would help me get what I wanted.
