Looking for a cheapish laptop for the girlfriend, she`s a teacher and needs one to plan her lessons etc. Not fussed about a brand new machine, though it would be nice, software isn`t a problem as she can get it cheap anyway, so just need a reliable supplier with a good track record. Need it fairly cheap, but not so cheap that the specs s***e.
Any recommendations?

RE: Recommendations for Laptop Retailer
Try Evesham.com (they may have a branch near you). After trying a couple of non branded PCs and getting my fingers burned and my money refunded (eventually) I decided to go for a bigger name. Plus they do six months 0%.

G/F ordered one from RockDirect the other day, anyone had any dealings?

Could always try http://www.foris.co.uk
No no no, that was a poor joke ;-) If you want something on the cheap you could always try http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk second user with warranty and if you go to one of there stores you can usually get a good deal if you have a few quid in cash.

Yeah I`ve got a Rock laptop about 18 months ago and still have it now. Couldn`t be happier. The warrenties are top notch (they collect and return it for you, and if they can`t fix it within ten days they give you a new one until they do)
The spec on mine was top of the range then and cost around £1,700 but that was easily £200-300 cheaper than Dell, Compaq. and the spec is perfect for waht I need and I use it alot. and their service seems really friendly and personal.
