Need to replace my laptop HDD
If I installed a hybrid drive (e.g. Momentus XT) could Windows be installed on the SSD part?
Are the two parts seen as 2 drives?
Only room for 1 drive and large SSDs very expensive at the moment
Thanks

I was reading up about the hybrid drives, as I think I`m going to get one myself.
Basically the OS has no real knowledge of the fact it is hybrid, it appears as one single drive.
The drive itself uses the SSD portion as a fast cache, so whenever it sees data on the physical drive which is causing the heads to move too much and/or take too long to read, it caches it to the SSD.
What this means is often the first few times you use things, it`s no faster than a normal HDD but in a short space of time it quickly learns what is causing slowdowns and moves those bits to SSD, transparently.
