OK, I`m probably being thick here!

Just bought a CnM external hard drive. It came with a USB cable, but it has two USB connectors (plus the mini usb to go into the unit)
Q - Do I plug one usb connector (which one) or Both into my laptop. (Stands by for the ridiculing!!!)

Try just the `main` one (that`ll be the one that has the other connector coming out of the bottom of it).
If it doesn`t spin up and work, then plug the other one in as well.

They supply the double-headed cables because some of the older USB ports couldn`t deliver enough power to the drives.  So the idea being that you plug in both to boost the power supply.

Thanks Miles, it did work with one in, I was just wondering if plugging both in would make file transfer faster or something, but you tell me it`s for the power.

Thanks

You could get one of those USB PSUs and plug the other connector into that to independently power it, rather than draining computer power.

It`s for the power.
