Neil,
excallent name, i`ve had many friends called neil.
I would either send to the local recycleing center with £50 for a tower or so then allow some of your discresion for upgrades such as memory, or even cheaper the local library. wifi cards do exist cheaply for towers
Who paid for the pc that you use

You could try Bigpockets, they have some good stuff at the moment but it`s going fast. I recently found a laptop for our friends for £300. Gateway, 17 TFT, Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73GHz, 2GB Ram, 120GB HDD, DVD-RW drive and Vista Home Premium. That one was a steal, but it`s now sold out (if I`d been working I`d have bought one myself). They have some similarly priced 15.4" TFT models though, albeit slightly worse specs..
