Which is the best internet provider out there?

floyd_dylan (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 3rd October 2007, 22:23

I`m getting p***ed off with demon at the moment, because they keep bitching about my excessive download useage, so I`m wondering if there are any other providers that can give me unlimited download time?

Have you considered any of the Entanet resellers such as Vivaciti or UKFSN. Not unlimited but probably the best GB per £ deal. I switched to Vivaciti six months ago and they are superb.

Get cable if you can. Not hard download limit but your speed is throttled for 4 hours if you download more than 3GB between 4pm and midnight. I did 80GB in total last month and didn`t get throttled even once.

I can`t get cable, hence using Vivaciti. £25/month (+VAT) for 45GB peak/300GB OffPeak. This is the Office service which is built on the BT Premium product not the standard Max. Another benefit of the Office service is that the Peak period is shorter IIRC OffPeak starts two hours earlier.

Billing period from 13 Jun 2007 - 12 Jul 2007: 110.84 GB
Billing period from 13 May 2007 - 12 Jun 2007: 196.16 GB
Billing period from 13 Apr 2007 - 12 May 2007: 171.32 GB

I`m with UKonline after having to leave BT because I keept going over the usage allowance. The price is £20 a month (depending on what exchange you are on) for up to 8mb download and 768kb upload. My computer is on 24/7 downloading and have never had any complaints from them!
