Creating Home Network problem

"V" (Elite) posted this on Friday, 19th May 2006, 20:47

I`m trying to link my PC to my laptop, but I am prompted for a password to connect with my laptop. I wasn`t asked to create a password on the initial boot up, so I`ll be buggered if I know what password it is asking for.
Anyone have any ideas?

TBH I don`t know how far you`ve got. But I`d go through it with the wizard again on both computers making sure any passwords (ETC) are the same.

I can link the computers in as much as the icon for each one appears in my network places folder, but I can`t find any folders that I`ve enabled for sharing. Even the designated shared folders cannot be seen.......

You checked your firewall? I had a problem with Norton not letting my pc speak to my laptop. Turn it off for a few minutes and try it again.

Almost there now. My Mcafee firewall wasn`t set for file sharing (:¦ , so now I can access my laptop from my PC, but still no joy in accessing the pc from my laptop...
