Go for an Epson, you can get good compatible inks from a variety of sources. Bear in mind though that some of the very cheap brands will start to disappear now that Epson have started legal action (won`t get rid of all of them though...).

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...

And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

Give serious thought to what you want the printer for. Do you need a colour facility?

We realised we almost never printed anything in colour these days (with online photo printing so cheap and quick) and switched to a black and white Brother Laser printer for about £90. Over a year now and it`s still running on the initial drum/toner, and even when it does run out it won`t be ridiculously expensive. Great quality for letters and fine for printing off online receipts, multimap directions etc which is all we needed it for.

If you don`t need the colour then a B&W Laser may be a more cost effective option than a colour inkjet.
