ok

i just had broadband increased from 1mb to 4mb. i havent altered any settings in the client yet my download speeds arent much improved over the 1mb connection. i only download a few things namely tv eps and they are usually well seeded. my modem is fine as ive reached 480KB/s whilst downloading trailers and demos etc. i know torrents are different but with my current setup can i get better download speeds of around 100KB/s (combined download) which is what im reaching know. if so is there something i need to do because ive looked on several forums and checked several setup guides and i cant find a definitive answer.

cheers.

you can only download as fast as people are uploading unless several people (with good connections) are uploading at once. I have the exact same problem it all depends on who is seeding the file, i`ve hit 190kb/s using bittorrent and have had 1kb/s.

If you just leave it chugging away in the background you find that eventually the speed does increase especially at night when people just leave the pc to seed.

A little patience..... :D

Leave the PC on and turn the monitor off, it doesnt affect the PC operation in any way.
