DVD Back up problem

Moo.. (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 19th January 2006, 13:53

I`ve tried to back up a couple of dvds that are red and orange in colour and they
seem to have copy protection I can`t seem to get around. I`ve tried using Dvd Shrink, Dvd Decrypter and Clone Dvd with Any Dvd, but can`t get anywhere. Has anyone any suggestiopns?

One wouldnt be Kung-Fu Hustle by any chance?

Theres a chap at work who has been trying to back up an R2, Red DVD version of this and his PC wont even recognise the disk, but, apparently, the disc itself is absolutely pristine and plays fine on any DVD player you put it in.

Would be interested to see if theres an answer, too, as I keep meaning to `have a look` but never get round to it.

The two I`ve problems recently are Madagascar and Lords Of Dogtown. The weird thing is to me it kind of implies that theres a fault in the disc itself but that can`t be the case as it`s a brand new disc.

I backed up Madagascar successfully last week. I think there was an issue with it but when I downloaded the up to date version of Any DVD and it worked fine.

I also experienced problems with Madagascar.

I managed to solve the problem, by first using DVDFab Decrypter, then running it through VOB Blanker, & finally DVD Shrink.

Hope this helps!

Note: Could not get this to work without using DVDFab...tried DVD Decrypter then VOB Blanker but had no luck.

I`ve had to use DVD Fab Decrypter too recently. Nothing else would touch them and, even with AnyDVD, shrink and dvd decrypter just locked up the whole PC and I had to reboot. :(

Ive never heard of Dvd Fab Decrypter. I take it its a variation on Dvd Decrypter?

Nothing to do with DVD Decrypter but it came out about the time DVD Decrypter stopped.
Seemingly decrypts most things.
Get it here.

i use dvd region+css, it makes your dvd region free it also decrypt`s the dvd at the same time so any copying software thinks the dvd is not encryted so far i have no problems with any dvd i have tried to copy, inc kung fu hustle and madagascar,
