I think your equipment belongs to Sky.

You have to pay extra for installation & box if you`re not subscribing, as Sky make their profits on 12 month subscription contracts.

I think they`d probably ask for the box and dish back if you ended your subscription if it started with standard installation.

Perhaps there`s a nominal fee you can pay, as your box should still pick up the free to air channels minus a pay to view channel package.

I`m sure a boff will be along soon to give you better info! ;)

I don`t care what you`re doing, it`s the idiotic way that you`re doing it.

As long as you have been with them at least a year, the equipment is yours, even if it was free to start with. However, as far as i know you won`t be able to pickup diddly with it - certainly not freeview or anything.

As long as you have a sat system, without card you will recieve all Free To Air channels. However if you wish to recieve ITV etc., You will need Sky`s FreeTo View card, about £ 20 ish.

Leave your existing Sky viewing card in and you will still be able to recive the free chanels. We have done the same thing. Just ring BskyB up and tell them you want to leave and providing you hav being with them more then 12 months, you keep the box plus dish.

Best of luck
