Problems using DVDshrink

dkuk2000 (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 3rd November 2004, 22:19

I`m having problems with playback of copies made with DVDshrink they seem to almost pause every so often.
Has anybody else had this problem and does anyone know the cause ?.
I`m using Panasonic DVD-R 4X speed (worked fine before) :(

Doubt it`s anything to do with Shrink.
Do they play OK in the PC?
Most probably a disc (in)compatibility issue..

The same happens with Datawrite disk`s (yellow).

Do you think it could be a problem with too much compression ?.

this happens to me regardless of which disks I use, when using Shrink

I think its more to do with compression because it *never* happens when I copy something which is less than 4.7G.

The fault on mine usually happens only once or maybe twice max in a movie which I have had to compress. Its like a "pause" that happens, and the film picks up about 1/3 second later.

I wondered if it was something to do with the layer change on larger discs? But then I know cock all about this, so it could be anything.......

Datawrite Yellow are Ritek.
If it`s only a couple of times a film, maybe it`s PC performance when encoding ??
It`s not to do with layer change - that`s taken care of in Shrink.

I think i`ve solved the problem :D
It seems to only happen when there is huge amount of compression needed.

Just burned a DVD and playback is perfect.
