Page 1 of Which DVD ReWriter?
PCs & Mobiles Forum
Looking a rewriter, SVP Communications have a load of them, can anyone recommend a good one.
NEC2500A...install it then flash the firmware..hey presto, you will be ready for when dual layer discs are more reasonably priced
They don`t have the 2500A any more. I`d go for the NEC 3500 (16x single layer writing speed, 4x dual layer) at £49.95.

You can get a bit of discount from SVP by following these instructions:
After logging into their site, then "ENTER SHOP",
Now you will see a tab for " log in "
(at top right of the screen). Click this tab, & enter the username & password.
username: disqworld
password: price
Make sure that they are in "lowercase" & there are no spaces in between.
"disqworld" is spelt with a "q" NOT "c".
And you can still get 99p shipping offer this weekend together with the discounts.
Go for the NEC 3500, I`m using one at the moment with Verbatim double-layer discs and it`s flawless. :D

Only suggestion I could make would probably be the Pioneer 108/A08.
Reason being that apparently disc manufacturers used to test their media on Pioneer drives. So I would guess if that was still the case then using a 108/A08 would reduce the risk of media failure or compatability issues.

Choagy FFCUK For The SPL after SPANKIN` the Jags yesterday :D
Thanks for the advice, I ordered the NEC 3500.
