Hi

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I`ve got some old VHS tapes which I would love to transfer to DVD via my PC.

I Have a good spec PC with DVD Writer however what do I need to do this in terms of:

1) Graphics Cart
2) Software and how would I use the software.

Many Thanks

You need a capture card to actually connect your VCR to. A cheap one is here:

www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=848646549&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=54154

Or if you`re after better quality / usb just look through that section on ebuyer or elsewhere.

I have one of those for doing home movies. You connect the VCR to the capture card and the sound goes through your PC line in socket (more expensive cards/usb versions can handle all the connections). You run the software you get with it and just click the record button to start capturing video to the hard drive. I think there is burning software included, but I use Nero Vision Express - you can make menu`s etc with it.
