My Dads still having a mare with his PC, i`m hoping that re-loading IE might help him out, but as he cant access the Net to download it, so is there a disc with it on that is easily available? Didn`t they used to put this on those freebie AOL type CDs?

You could try PcPro, they often have this on the CD. The contents are listed in the back of the magazine.

Assuming you have your dial-up/broadband connection configured and you are connected to your ISP:-
If Windows is being used, then you still have some form of a browser installed. You know My Computer or Windows Explorer (Windows Key-E)? Simply type in a url into the Address Bar.
If Address Bar is not showing, then right click on the menu or toolbar and tick Address Bar. You can also have an address bar on your Start Bar by doing the same.
