Can anyone possibly help me, I have just bought a Nec DVD RW ND 2500A and cannot get it to record at 8X it only will write at 4X any ideas anyone?

You need to buy 8x media in order for it to record at that speed. Look for something like 2x - 8x in the media description. Try bigpockets.co.uk for cheap 8x -R or +R.
They sell datawrite/datasafe/ritek which I find work well on the NEC. No coasters in the 50 odd I have burned so far.
