Firstly, even thought they call it 3X, it isn`t. It is only 150Kbs which is just slightly over 2 1/2 times

I am currently with Pipex 512K, but have just cancelled that and will be switching to the Tiscali deal at the end of next month.

It is perfect for me as all I use BB for is email, banking and (obviously) DVDReview :D .

I wouldn`t bother with Tiscali if you want to use BB for gaming, P2P, big downloads etc, for this I would use Pipex. But if you are a low user like me it seems ideal.

Just hope they don`t put the price up!

Noo, don`t go to Tiscali, go for one of the companies providing full broadband cheaply!! I`ve just got mine with V21, 20 quid a month for proper broadband. Still a lot cheaper than aol broadband. Only thing with V21 is their email can be a bit unreliable, but as I use hotmail and lycos as my main accounts, it doesn`t bother me. Oh, you have to pay your own connection fee, but it evens out over the year with the cheaper monthly amount than companies offering free connection.

Hey, I have a domain, I don`t care about email :D Thing is, its full broadband, its not a twelve month contract, and its a lot cheaper than all the big name companies. For that, I`ll pay my own fee! I`ve heard bad things in general about aol, tiscali and most of the other big companies. V21 also have a forum moderated by their tech help people.

Pipex at £23.44 for 512 wins my vote but as posted earlier it depends on what you want it for. I was tempted by the Tiscali 150 service becuase it does appear to give most of the benefits of broadband e.g. always on, doesn`t hog your line. However, becuase we have 3 PCs in our house, I plumped for the faster service.

Very happy so far.

Gotta go with the Pipex vote personally cheaper than BT & fast activation/turnaround for me every time.

Ahh! I`m glad this topic has come back to the top, `coz it`s just reminded me that in the small print of the newspaper add for Tiscali 3X service, it mentions that you are limited to 50 hrs per month.

Never saw anything like that on their web page (but I`m sure it will be there in teeny, weeny writing somewhere!)

Looks like I`m staying with Pipex for now then!
