Ok, I know what you`re thinking but there is a product on the market that is actually supposed to be able to attain this:

see http://onspeed.com

Have any of you actually used this and if so comments please as I`m in a non digital dsl area.

onspeed apparently works by compressing pictures and graphics on the fly to speed up web browsing. It rssentially zips pictures, meaning that graphics heavy sites load a little bit quicker. And apparently it has no effect (even adverse effects) on download speeds. So broadband it certainly aint.

Theres a review on the guardian web site. It also points you to onspedds Ts and Cs which basically say they are as bad as GAIN and will spam you to death within days.

Shame, coz ive got a few mates in a similar position. p4 3.2 ghz, radeon 9800 gfx card and they still cant get a decent game of UT2003............... :(

I used a month trial version which came with a PC mag. I wasn`t that impressed and there were times when I had to disable it during a session (it prompted me to do this). Not as good as the real thing I think, at least from my experience. Like the man says "There`s no such thing as a free lunch".
