ks,

i think you`ll need a wireless adaptor to fit into your USB port, then you`ll
need a wireless router to connect to your modem, and maybe a wireless
access point.

probably need to spend about £130 ish, maybe more, maybe less.

That link is dead.

Does the laptop have wireless network card already?
Are you running XP Home & AOL 1MB broadband on a desktop PC or is the laptop your only PC - because it isn`t clear from you post. Post some more info (i.e. existing setup up) and I`m sure that you will get an answer.

Hi

Firstly I`m presuming you have the AOL connection already up and running with another computer. If so you have 2 options, 1) You could use Internet Connection Sharing (built in to Windows XP) that allows 1 computer to share it`s connection with any other connected on a network.
2) You could get a specific router that does the internet connection for you and then any computer can connect to it.

The second option is preferable as for the first option the main computer has to be running all the time. However, the first option is cheaper in the short-term.

For the second option, you might want to consider something like
this (Netgear 54Mbps ADSL wireless router)

For your laptop to connect to it, you would then need something like this this (Ebuyer 54Mbps PCMCIA card

That would then mean your laptop (and any other wireless/wired computer) could use the connection.

Word of warning though - AOL are supposed to be a bit funny about not using the modems provided by them (IE no support for them) so be wary of that

KevinT - you`re right the link doesn`t work - it`s because of the java sessions where all the links are based on individual sessions, right pain in the neck!

Try this link instead: www.pcworld.co.uk/product.php%3Fsku=978954

Seems it doesn`t have Wireless built in

In that case - you can still go with the option 2 (wireless router + PCMCIA card)...or stick with the wired option (modem from AOL).
