Evenin` folks.
Is it as simple to create a DVD MP3 disc as it is with a CDR or are would the DVD have to be written in another manner . I would like to encode and record my LOTR 13 disc set to one DVD MP3 .
I have both Roxio EZCD 5 Platinum and Nero 5.5.10.54 and have used both several times for CDR but never with DVDR and would greatly appreciate any help before I make the obligatory coasters.
I may be a little slow at acknowledging any help as my good lady has the following "Small" tasks waiting for me.
5 new colonial doors for me to saw/plane/fit/remove/stain along with the hardware.
Remove laminate flooring/existing floorboards ijn a bedroom and refit new floorboards sand and stain.
Floor the loft plus fit light fittings and sockets in the loft.
Plus the "Fitba`s oan at half seven" Chelsea V Liverpool so "Ah might hae a couple o` swallies"
Choagy :)
I think you`d have trouble making a disc that was playable in a standalone DVD player, as I`m fairly sure they look for the DVD format of data if you put a DVD standard disc in.
It would be simple, of course, to save them as mp3 datafiles to be played on any PC with a DVD drive though.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I had a wee look at Nero Express and there is an option that allows you to select "MP3" (After selecting the 105 DVDR) so I may have a wee go "Eftar the fitba`" and write to a DVD-RW for a trial run.

Hi Dan as far as i know to record music cda/wma/mp3 to a dvd , On a standalone dvd recorder you MUST include an image still or moving, So i think you will NEED to do this with a computer dvd recorder i hope this helps.fw600vj
as for playing dvd`s filled with mp3`s, it depends on the player, all recent "cheap" players will be fine (pacific 1002/ anything using smart navi) however the lord of the rings 13 disc set will fit on 1 cd-r if you sample at 128k, i only ripped it at 64k and it only took 337meg and the quality was excellent, if you list the model/make of your player i`ll try and find out if it`s compatable.

My Panasonic E50 wont play an Mp3 DVD but my mates Philips DVDR80 will. ( or it could be his other philips DVD player?)
most of the newer budget players will also play "raw" mpg1/mpg2/jpeg/mp3 from dvdr/cdr
