Does anyone know of a DVD software programme where you can drag .vob files and let it auto create the .IFO files for them?

I got a load of .vob files from my DVD+RW but cannot get anything to create the .IFO files!!

Any help would be most aprechated, and thankyou in advance.

Hi John

Not sure about the technicalities of what your trying to do, but Nero has a specific facility to create video DVD`s using drag and drop. This has worked fine for me and the discs play in a variety of players no problem. Version 6 of Nero is much improved & has many functions / facilities including auto backup.

DVD Lab allows you to import VOB files without de-multiplexing and compile without re-muxing. However, you will still have to create menus, chapters etc again as this information is not contained within the VOB files. If the VOB files contain more than one movie the work could become more tricky. The software can be downloaded from mediachance.com and tried for 30 days for free. Most users recommend using Nero for final burning of the DVD after compilation rather than DVD Lab.

IFOEDIT allows you to create IFO files from a set of VOB files. You can get the software from the official site here. The site also contains a guide on how to do this as well.
