Page 1 of Computer running slow, why? - also computer, Toshiba DVD drive for free

My 500 Mhz Siemens Xpert computer is running at a snails pace, taking like 5 minutes to bring up my computer, double click folder takes another five to get into it to see contents. Just get white box and waiting.
Been fine upto now.
Also popping up messages c: drive corrupt.

I`ve run adaware as I run from time to time anyway before this and caught Gator and a few other things shouldn`t be there. They are gone now.
But I know there is some other stuff, like Gator and data mining there that adaware doesn`t catch when scanning. I know because I can tell from folders and files and stuff by looking.

Anyhow, been thinking of getting new computer ages before this, and was thinking of getting one in about a months time from now all along.

Just somebody tell me how to clear these bloody things and get it running at per normal speed again? Got a month or so before I get new one yet anyway.

If any one wants the old one, for parts: Just £10 for the whole desktop part to pay for the delivery and its yours. Let me know.
Its no good for using as only 500Mhz so can`t hard pushed for basic things like running simple software these days. (hence me always planning on new computer). But theres some good stuff to take out of it:
Toshiba DVD drive.
Floppy disk drive (but can buy cheap now anyway)
20 GB hard disc (might be corrupt, so perhaps not)
Crappy mouse.
Keyboard etc.

download spybot as this can pick up stuff that adaware misses.

type spybot in a search engine and you should find the download from there
