Page 1 of how easy is it to play XVID on your PC?

I just got given a film but can`t play it on my pc.
Am using Real 1 player - I`ve installed the codec files but still get message saying Xvid codec file not supported.

Is there any freeware that I can use?

Why not download a freeware Xvid player at download.com???

just get the nimo codec pack from here www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html to solve all your divx play back problems

The links from Beastylad say downloads contain adware/spyware. Should I worry about this? I`m not really keen on 3rd parties getting info from my computer.

Actually, steer clear of the Nimo Pack - its more trouble than its worth.

Download the newest versions of DivX and Xvid, they should simply be enough. Go on http://www.dvdrhelp.com and check the tools section for recommended codecs for DivX.

its up to u but i have a spyware removing program so i installed it then ran the spyware program. The first time i ran the spyware program i nearly had a heartattack there was loads of spyware on my machine.

Beastylad, whats that software you got called, i might give it a try to see if i`ve picked up any spyware too?
