The title just about says it can any one recomend a free cd (or wav) to mp3 converter to download?

EAC is probably the best CD audio ripper out there:

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de

Couple it with LAME (http://mitiok.cjb.net/ ) for MP3 encoding and you`re in business.

Not tried them all, but I must say that I have found CDEx very good.

EAC is supposed to be the best there is. But I can`t be arsed with it and Lame etc.
To be honest I just use Nero or Roxio.

I`ve used quite a few, but always come back to cdex, best of the bunch IMO.
