Queen & Paul Rodgers - The Cosmos Rocks

Well just had my first listen and I have to say I`m not overly impressed with it. Before you say it ain`t Queen as Freddie ain`t about no more - I KNOW!
The songs seem so not Queen - I was expecting a few Queenesque harmonies all over the place but thinking back I can`t even think I heard one.
I really think they should have dropped the Queen bit and maybe called it Brian, Roger and Paul!!
Been a BIG Queen fan since 1977 - been to a few of their gigs from 1982 onwards so I do have a soft spot for them.
Maybe its an album that will slowly grow - but I`m sticking to the fact that I think C-lebrity is God damn awful and should not have been made a single release!.

I`ve not got round to listening to it yet... I`ve read several reviews - some good, some bad, so it`s all swings and roundabouts I suppose.

I did read a very positive review in "Classic Rock Magazine" - which is a magazine I`ve been reading off and on for years now and usually respect and agree with their reviews... They gave it 8 out of 10 and said it was much better than it had any right in being.

I`m going to give it a few listens to, before I go and see them in October... 8)

i felt the same, it IS a grower, but there`s one song paul holds one word on for ages ont he chorus, now, why queen left paul`svoice on it`s on, and didn`t add harmonies in rising tones I don`t know.

It`s not the best Queen album ever, but it`s not the worst either, and knocks the spots of most of the crap around right now, however, it is not equal to the sum of it`s parts, good album, but could`ve been better, hopefully, they`ll do another.

Enjoying it more with repeated listens, which is a good job, seeing as I`m going to tonight`s gig in Nottingham :D

Have to agree now that is a SLOW grower - definately not Queen - seeing them in Liverpool next weekend.

Hmmm... some of the rockier numbers are quite ordinary (forgettable) - the three ballads (and the reprise) are by far the best tracks on the album, imo. I was half-expecting a background echo of Freddie`s voice, as the final track was fading out..... Well, it would have been nice.

Going to see them in B`ham tomorrow (can`t wait!), and hopefully Manchester next month. 8)

Did Liverpool last night - f***ing awesome gig - 2.5 hours of pure class. Loved the Roger solo with the kit.

Yeah - the Birmingham gig was fantastic too... the solo bits with Brian and Roger were amazing... especially "Love Of My Life", and Brian`s guitar solo later on. 8) :)
