Think the cheapest you`ll find is through the Apple Educational shop (to qualify you need some association with a school/educational establishment - passed by one on the way to work) @ £128. Think the Creative Zen Micro is the better bet - radio,removable battery, 5GB for about the same price.

Nah, i disagree go for the Ipod, it offers great style and function as well as Iconic design, in fact id go buy two, buy one for yourself to use aas pernormal, and another to keep for 20years and sell, as they are predicted to be workt an absolute fortune....(think star wars figures but less nerdy!) Its easy to use, thee is loads of information available on it, and as its an apple its not going to be liable to a million bugs etc etc which tend to attack these sort of things!

Thats wrong on sooooooo many levels.
Style = who gives a f***? Its going to live in your pocket.
Function = The Ipod is outperformed by nearly every other top end player on the market in terms of sound and ID tagging
Speculation = They will be worth absolutely jack. Actually a working one might be worth something as they are so prone to hard drive failure or the battery going tits up.
Easy to Use = I`ll give you that, althoug there are easier.
Bugs = What? I dont know where you got that from, but show me one MP3 player that has been affected by a virus. And as far as bugs are concerned, just because its an Apple, doesnt mean there arent going to be maggotts running through it.
As Spartacus said, the Zen is your best bet. Or the RIO 5 gig offering. Ive got a 20gig Rio and in a straight pepsi challenge with my cousins 20gig Ipod, it wins on all fronts except `style`. Its f*** ugly (but then, no one wants to nick it!).
Sorry that sounds overly aggressive, but thats some bad, bad advice.
