Choice of 5 Home-Cinema Systems - which one??!! (Please Help!!)
Hi - I`ve narrowed down my choice to the following 5 Home-Cinema systems:
- PIONEER HTD-5 (£299.99)
- PHILIPS MX1060D (£349.99)
- HITACHI HTDK150 (£314.99)
- AIWA HTDV90 (£299.99)
- LG 3520 (£299.99)
My basic requirements are - that it can be made multi-regional, decode DTS, and get Dolby Pro-Logic through the TV (for videos/Sky etc).
Does anyone have any recommendations?? (or horror stories...!)
Also, I think only the Hitachi one has a SCART socket - does this really matter??!
Thanks for any help!!

Safeway had the LG last week for £249, dont know much about it tho` . However the £50 you save will buy you 4-5 good DVDs.

The Hitachi will meet all your requirements. I have the Schniedner 500 which is a clone of this machine. I am very pleased with all aspects of it`s performance. I paid £299 for my kit from Asda`s - which included a 3 year guarantee.

I was interested in this system (Hitachi/Schnieder), but have read two poor reviews of it - they both say the sound is quite poor (one only gave it 4/10 for sound). Also, I can`t find any of them anywhere - Currys only has display models! Incidently, these two sites both rated the LG and AIWA models very highly, so I will probably go for one of these!?

Slightly above your budget, but better than any ` all-in-one ` package you`ve mentioned, is the award winning Sony HTK215 surround system for around £249 from www.techtronics.com and then something like the Dansai DVD player from Asda for £100.
The good thing about this is that the Sony HTK215 is more than capable of handling a better player if/when you can afford one.
From reviews I`ve read all-in-one packages have ` compromise ` written all over them in one way or another.
