DVD Back-up

Hi! I have a chipped Sony DAVS300 which can now back-up DVDs to tape. The problem is I have no idea how to do this. Can someone help me out and advise?

SCART from DVD into VCR.

Set VCR to record AV1 or AV2 (depending on what SCART socket you`ve hooked into)

Set TV to whatever AV channel you use on your TV (assuming your VCR is connected to TV).

Watch what you record.

Ensure audio is set to analogue output, not digital.

If you`re trying to record R1 discs you may have a problem unless you can set the Sony to convert an NTSC picture to a PAL signal.

If i can recall the Sony DAVS300 does not have a scart socket, only composite phono socket(yellow) and a svideo socket so you will need a scart to phono with audio leads unless your video has phono sockets, you can pick one up from maplins which is switchable between input and output part no:VA11M or LG 92A if your video only has one scart socket or one of the other web sites which sell these leads fogot the url.

I think Sony players will only output NTSC form an NTSC signal so you will not be able to record it to VHS.
