Too tempting by far...Yammy DSPAX630 for £290 + delivery

Regulars will know I love my Yammy DSPA5 amp, but I want to upgrade to the new Yammy amp with Dolby ProLogic 2.

Went for a quick scout around, and just found it for £290 (+ delivery) from http://www.empiredirect.co.uk (immediate despatch) and £304 (free delivery) from http://www.qed-uk.com (delivery within 14 days). RRP is £389, so these are two great prices.

Can someone give me a reason not to buy one now...please ?

1: Something better will come along in 6 months time (doesn`t it always).
2: The price will come down as supplies get around properly.
3: Errrr.... that`s it.

On the other hand, it`s probably a good time to sell the Yammy, while it`s still not "too" out of date - it would make someone a fab first system for not much money paired with a set of cheap Richer Sounds Special speakers. (FWIW, I bought my Yammy A5 S/H for £100 + shipping).

1. Westy could turn up at your house with his Denon behemoth and start you dribbling,
2. You might hear the AZ1 and change your mind,
3. All above very unlikely, as soon as you read Westy`s review coming soon in the `comeback programme`, you`ll want to buy 2!

Go on mate, it`s the best value amp i`ve seen and heard for about 5 years.

Empire claim it`s 75 wpc ? Is that correct ?! Surely it`s not *less* powerful than our beloved A5`s ?!

I was right - checking the specs they`ve taken the MIN RMS output of 75W - Doh !

DIN standard power is 125W, which sounds a lot more likely !

That certainly looks like a tasy amp, and FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY Yamaha see fit to use binding posts rather than spring clips on this price level !!!!! WOOHOO !!

If you get one, please tell us what it sounds like straight away !

I have the RXV620 and am also looking to upgrade to DPLII.

The 620 is 90w but as mentioned above its replacement the 630 dropped to 75W, can someone shed some light on this, isnt this a bad thing?
