Please see my review of the above player:
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/homesite/Dansai852/
I have included pictures of the player, an example video of the tray eject, a scanned in copy of the manual, and lots of other information. Hope it`s useful to someone.
Cheers

Excellent stuff : a web presence for budget players is something I totally advocate - you deserve plenty of hits : well done.
May I suggest you add it to the DVD Reviewer links to attract more traffic.
Just on a website designing point, you may (if your web package allows) want to open the full pictures into new windows (add a _blank after each .jpg : this will force the browser to open up a window) : not a criticism, just a handy tip.
You`ll be surprised how addictive starting a website devoted to one player can become. My own http://www.area450.com started off as a 7 page site devoted to the Encore DV450 in January 2000, and has now splurged to cover all Sampo decks, and attracts 1450 unique visitors per day, worldwide.
I hope that you get the urge to spread your wings : there is definitely a niche in the independent world for the Dansai (and possibly associated clones such as the Deccavision 2100 too).
I just love independent websites ! Can you tell ?
Many thanks for your encouraging words! I vowed I would put it up after I had trouble finding much information on the player before I bought it.
I thought I would start it simple and see if there was any interest. I have taken your advice and opened the images new windows.
I`ve also added a live chat room and forum - but I`ll need to get a few hits before that pays off.
Your site looks very impressive bye the way!

Can you put a grab up of the MP3 & MPG file screens?
Nice effort mate. Same as you, I found minimal support on my current player, so I`ve also put together a little effort on the MiCo models on the cheap, will post link when done
You might want to get together with this guy

I`ll try and get a picture of that screen tonight.
I did link to the http://www.dansai.freehosting.net/ site on my page for the hack. Maybe he`ll do the same for mine(!)
Cheers for you comments,
Gidon
Just as another interesting aside, Gidon, you could maybe contemplate introducing an interactive element whereby people notify you which Tesco stores hold stock of the Dansai, as I know it`s very rare.
Try here for a handy form :

Just an idea....

I still can`t get SVCD`s I have made to fastforward or jump chapter without getting lipsync errors??
Nice review.
I`m sorry - I noticed you entered my chat room - but I had popped away from my desk. I`m back now if you want to discuss SVCDs.
Yes I have got SVCD`s to work. Although I`ve had best results using DVD2SVCD (www.doom9.org)
Or try downloading the test svcd file from vcdhelp.com and burn it to cd using demon tools to make the iso file appear as a cd drive - then just do a copy cd - gives good results. Let me know if that works.

Pic of MPEG,MP3, VOB explorer window is up on my website now.
Also followed clayts advice on having a list of tesco sites with stock.

Here`s another online review you may want to link to : dunno whether it`s a good review or not really :-)

And a link to 107 user reviews (always more balanced in my opinion) here :
http://dvdplayers.reviewcentre.com/reviews920.html
We`ll have you a 10 page site by the weekend :-)
