Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
Looking to buy a budget DVD, Pioneer is available on LetsBuyIt.com £179 and Aiwa is available Comet around £200, I see hacks are around for the AIWA, looks like the pioneer is not multi-regional, a feature I quite like.
Interested in anyones views on the 2 units.
I like the sound of the Aiwa but the pioneer seems to have same features for slightly cheaper, comments please
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
You can get an Aiwa DV370 from http://www.hed.co.uk/ for just £169.99
I ordered one on Monday, should get it anyday now!
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
You can get a multi-region pioneer dv 530 (same as dv 535 but in silver) for £200 from www.techtronics.com.
Be warned that the prices on the website don`t include vat. Got mine last week, took about a week to come.
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
I`ve had a Pie&ear 525, and I sell the 530
(535 without a dig out and champagne not black)
What have I got for a player?
Aiwa 370!
Multi region hack? I`ve posted it about 20 times on the region hack forum! And advice forthcoming in a few weeks about macro disable! (hopefully)
Add this together and whaddya think?
(A mod for the Pioneer is around £70 for multi region, by the way!)
You guessed it...
AIWA 370 ROCKS!!!!!!!
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
Thanks for the info Jimbo, Yes I have noticed your hack for the 370 posted. The macro disable will be handy.
Aiwa is the choice really, no real competition at the price.
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
I also have an Aiwa and used the hack that Jimbo supplied.
I have nothing but praise for the machine. I have thrown every region 1 and 2 DVD I have at it, an Audio CD-RW, a couple of VCDs, and many MP3 CD-Rs without any problems. EVen MP3 CDs sound surprisingly good and it works with CBR and VBR encoding. Picture and sound quality are as good if not better than my old Panasonic A110.
Go for it!
Aiwa rocks!!!
Jezebabes
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
The mp3s sound good, but do you get any id3 information on the screen or unit?
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
No, it doesn`t seem to recognise or display id3 tags. But at least it handles variable bit rate and constant bit rate mp3s (I understand the Wharfedale 750 doesn`t - anyone confirm?).
The MP3 screen also only displays 8 character filenames, but this is usually good enough and at least you can browse folders on the CD and make up playlists etc. I think the LG 3350 and Aiwa are the only models that do allow this currently.
Aiwa 370 ROCKS!!!
Jezebabes
RE: Comparing AIWA DV370 & Pioneer DV535
SC 2000 does this!
The s***e Yelo allowed you to fast forward, not just skip tracks.
HITACHI 505 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
