Pretty sure the Yammy 520 is a baby brother to the 620, which has had so many good reviews. I have the older Yammy A5, and it`s a cracker. I`d be tempted to go for the Yamaha.

I`d be tempted to hang back and wait for Yammy`s new ProLogic II range, myself.

Avoid the Kenwood : nothing but bad reviews, from what I`ve seen.

Other low cost alternatives : Marantz SR4200, Denon AVR1602/1802 may be worth an audition :-)

I`ve got the Yamaha, I would say it is very good. I had a Sherwood which was OK for movies but awful for music. The Yamaha is superior in every respect. I paid £275 for mine, which I thought was good value compared to the £199 I paid for the Sherwood, at £179 I would say it is a bargain and definitely better than the Kenwood which is apparently poor for CD playback.

Gotta say here...at the risk of being shouted down.....

I got the following:
Philips 622 (PAL converted and Multi Region of course)
Logix 3000 (PAL Converted, Multi region and still looking for the macro disable bloody loophole!!)
Kenwood KRF-V5050D

Can`t fault any of `em really, and me Kenwood sounds pretty damned ace!!

Pity it aint got a clock/timer/sleep function though :o/

Oh, and it`s black! lol
