I`m in the US and just picked up an Aiwa 370. Great machine. MP3 bit is a little cheesey, but the DVD playback is great. (from what I can tell). Got it with a Panasonic CT27D10 TV for $505 including tax and 0% 1 year financing. The only movie I have seen so far is The Talented Mr. Ripley that I checked out from the public library last night. I tried the region hack and it seemed to work ok on a US unit, as after keying in the code, I was greeted with a code prompt on the display. I have no idea about disabling macrovision though. All I can say is great unit for a great price!

Why would I want to watch 3 kings or fight club on reg 1 when I own them on reg 2 anyway.

This seems your only winge about the Aiwa do you have anything else other than this overused girls chat or are you still a little gutted that DVD Review only gave your Titsarchy 5/10 and quote "Badly let down by sub-par picture quality!!!!!!!!!!! Issue 4 2000

Firstly Bollox!

I pointed Jimbo in the direction of this player, he has since suffered problems with a couple of R1`s, He doesnt know wether it is his player or the aiwa in general.

I simply wish to find out if it is his player or all AIWA`s. If it is all AIWA`s then this player becomes a toaster as lots of people buy these players to play R1`s and already have films like 3Kings on R1.

Yes and if you kept up with the new`s funboy you would know the same mag gave the HITACHI 705 8/10 this month. The 705 is the same player with a few more features. The reason the hitachi 505 scored so low was HITACHI/DENON and some other`s recieved a duff batch of ESS4408F mpeg chips, DVD Review have concured with this!

The AIWA sounds a good player but if it skips on a lot of R1`s it`s multiregion ability is useless.
