Is the Philips 711 worth buying ?

Timc (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 20th November 2000, 21:30

Is the Philips 711 worth buying, Tesco`s are doing what apears to be a good deal for £164. I don`t seem to be able to find any full reviews for it.

Also does anyone know if it can be hacked via the remote or does it need to be chipped.

Thanks

This isn`t a bad player.
Pretty good sound and picture.
Plays CD-R and CD-RW (no mp3`s!)

U can buy one with a Mod-chip for ex. at http://www.switch-it-on.co.uk or can get a one4all remote and do a remote hack.
Go and take a look at:

you`ll get more info there....
let us know how it all worked out....

Tim

Just read all the info on the forums on the AIWA 370, you will see me on there post asking AIWA 290 pants is the philips 711 any better.

To cut a long story short I took the sound advice off the Duke, Jimbo and Jezebabes and purchased a Aiwa 370 from Comet it plays everything including MP3`s which the philips dont I swear you will not be disapointed and for £199.00 it`s a bargin....

Regards Ricardo

!!!!!!!!!!!! Big UP THE AIWA MASSIVE !!!!!!!!!!
