A friend is looking at purchasing a multi-region DVD player and the model he is looking at outputs PAL - PAL and NTSC - NTSC. His TV does not support NTSC. Is there any way round this or will he have to go for a model that outputs NTSC - PAL?

No way around it, however if it is a multiregion (make sure its not multichannel !!) player the he can set it to PAL and any NTSC disc will play in colour although the picture quality will decrease but only slightly
