MICO OWNERS READ IN!!!!!!

Hi Carrot

Has anyone done an Mp3 multi-session disc?

I have tried adding more Mp3`s to a CD-RW but the Mico will not see the added tracks? I have tried closing the CD. Am I doing something wrong?

Also there was another Mico review in a DVD mag I saw today. Is anyone using the player with a large widescreen TV?

Hi BRILEY:

Just tried burning a second session on to a test disc using CDRWin v3.8B

Session 1 contained 5 tracks:
1.mp3
2.mp3
3.mp3
4.mp3
5.mp5
Session 2 contained 6 tracks:
6.mp3
7.mp3
8.mp3
9.mp3
10.mp3
11.mp3

My Settings in Recording Options
Finalise/Close Session [On]
Write Postgap [On]
Track Mode [Mode 1]
Open New Session [On]

My settings in "Advanced Options" were
Import Previous Sessions [On]
Merge Files [On]

A strange thing occured. Only the files from the latest session (6-11) appeared in Windows explorer.
Although I could play them perfectly, the Mico showed only the tracks from the first session (1-5)!!!
The Mico play these tracks perfectly too!

Then I tried CDRWin with "Write Postgap" [Off]

This time success with my PC all 11 tracks were visible.

The Mico still shows & plays only those from the first session, damn it!

The loader is probably not a mult-session type or the Mico firmware has a cut-down version of DOS!
The latest DVS loader says its multi-session. But is it ours?
http://www.dvsystems.com/dvdplayers/intloader.shtml

:) Anyway, you should not see this as a problem as each extra session added to a CDRW adds an extra 11-14Mb overhead.
WASTED! Just copy all your MP3s to hard disk add the extra and burn again.
No waste and no potential pitfalls. Imagine losing all your MP3s on prior sessions due to a computer fault!
It could happen! I F*CKIN` KNOW!!! I remember that bloody Philips CDD3610. Arrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Whats this about WS? Not another problem, I hope! I hate WS anyway. 4:3 Rocks!!!

MiCO DOES IT ALL, BUT NOT THAT!!!/505`s Makes A Great Toilet Brush!!!

I will try this with my 505 carrot. I hope it works so I can rip the s*** out of you.

Did you know the 505 is one of a few player`s on the planet that do Pal->NTSC!

does the mico do that?

"MiCO DOES IT ALL, BUT NOT THAT!!!/505`s Makes A Great Toilet Brush!!!"

Mico makes great toast, unfortunatley the toast gets caught on eject and continues to burn:P

see ya toaster boy!

HITACHI 505 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi IronDuke:

What should I rip apart first? Hmmmm. You make it so easy!

The fact that a 505 can convert a PAL disc to NTSC can only be of interest to our American/Japanese cousins.

Any engineer worth there salt would tell you of the inferior colour of NTSC, so who in their right mind would want this?

Whoopee, I can convert 625 lines to 525 line. DVD is only 540 lines so I wont miss much. WRONG!
I might even gain that extra 5 fps WRONG AGAIN!!.
What a great selling point. NOT!
Then again if the Hitachi handles blacks & greys poorly, you may not notice the deterioration? Granted!

Does the MiCO do that??? Hell no, those clever engineers in China decided to give us "True Multiregion" instead!

I have never, NEVER had any disc fail to eject, burn scratch or grind!

MiCO Burns Hitachi 505 - Not Toast!!! (And I Saved A Packet!!!)

It`s not a real problem, just would be nice.

I was just asking if anyone was impressed with the Mico on a widescreen TV. I do love widescreen even though I don`t have one yet.

If your interested I just bought "Soldier" on DVD and it is a flipper with widescreen on one side and regular 4:3 on the other. I have not seen any of these discs before? are there many? cant they fit both on one side of a dual layer? I got that and "Falling Down" for £15. No extras though, Crap!!

You missed the point Totally toaster boy!

With the 505 being able to output R2 PAL disks to NTSC, the 505 can be taken to or sold in the USA from britain. Most US TV`s dont have PAL playback.

SO a great little option, you agree I know.

and carrot dont touch that dial!
It may fall off:P

burnt toast anyone?

Errr. Wrong again!

Not your day is it?

I understood your point 100% as is obvious from my previous reply.

Just how many Yanks do you know poor enough to buy a secondhand DVD player? And with poor enough taste to buy an Hitachi!

Answer. None.

Multiregion would be a better selling point - To Yanks in particular!

But they alas couldnt afford `my` Mico. Shes not for sale.

BTW: I CAN output NTSC on my Mico.
Custom Setup\TV System\PAL or NTSC. Presumably I can output PAL DVDs (of ANY region) on an inferior NTSC TV!!!
Not that I would ever want to!!! What gave you the idea the Mico couldnt output NTSC? Prejudice against Chinks? Remember the Mico DOES IT ALL!!!

And no the knob doesnt come off! I tug it every night before I go to bed!

Having thoughts about ditching the 505 already? Go on, I`ll give you 50p.
I need a plug!

Carrot :)

"But techtronics are advertising the 505 as a world player!"

That`s the biggest laugh I`ve had today!

I contacted Techtronics for a satellite dish a while back. I needed to know its measurements precisely as I wanted to get the largest one possible out of my window without the need for a ladder.

s***-for-brains. Ooops. I mean their chief technician (LOL) didnt realise that the majority of dishes are oval and hence I would only need the minimum dimension. Sadder than that it sounded like he couldnt even handle a tape measure! Fumble, oops, Oh my toe!

Also anyone who believes that scrolling praise at the end of their page is as gullible as one of their customers.

Try slagging them off and see where it gets you. I`ve tried and failed.
The only bad comments allowed concern their courier`s delivery times.

Techtronics = OUT OF STOCK.

Mico ROCKS and despite your mutterings, most are beginning to realise it! BRILEY, me and many, many others are over the moon.
