Basically looking to buy a Blue Ray player...

must have ability to play Multi-Region Dvd (as i have about 1000 already)

would also consider a `Recorder` facility also??? probably mucho bucks though?

I have LG 42" LCD screen with 200hz

Sky tv etc...

also would like the unit to be black in colour...

Budget say upto £300?

from a shop or online i dont mind... any brand except Sony, but i like LG and Panasonic...

If you can stretch to an extra £30 you could get something like this. Multi-region for DVD and Blu-ray.

Most of the Sony players can be hacked for multi-region via one of those `one 4 all` remotes.

Makes sense to stick with LG, then use the same remote for TV and DVD.

BTW, what do you have against Sony? They make decent BD players.

if it came to a sony, might you as well buy a PS3?

I love my PS3, but you can get a standalone deck for about half the price if you`re not a gamer.

A PS3 can play BD.
But you need the buy the BD remote, and they are quite noisy as BD players.
I have a PS3 and a Sony BD player.
I keep meaning to change to an LG BD, to match the telly, but can`t be arsed.
