I have this player - You cant really go wrong for 89 squid - especially as it comes with 3 year warranty free, also player is multi-region, picture quality is very good and it waill play any disk you throw at it. Build quility is better than most players at this price.

Can you tell me does it play SVCD`s ? they have the 750 and the 1000 in the ASDA near me, the 750 is advertised as MP3 vcd but doesn`t mention SVCD
The 1000 on the other hand mentions VCD and SVCD but not MP3
Also does anyone know if the 1000 is upgradeable firmware via cdr ?

What is the price difference between the 750 and the 1000? The 750 will play SVCD.

This player is supposed to play cd-rw disks, i have been trying to find out which but as yet no luck, not even the guys at schneider were any help so if you find any that work could you post what make they were, cheers. By the way they also told me this player wasn`t multi region but i haven`t tested that yet.

hi cardiff the answere to your q. is yes the pacific 1000 does play svcd and very well too.i`m not sure about mp3.
