Page 1 of surround sound..HELLLLP

i am gonna get a dvd player next week and in a few weeks (when i saved up) i gonna get me a surround sound set..now if i get a dvd player with out a 5.1 decoder, will i still be able to have the surround sound if i get the amp and speakers?..that probably sounds stoopid...but i am a fool

Yes as long as the AMP you buy can decode 5.1 sound. make sure you know if the player you are going to get has an optical or coxal digital out as it can vary.

Hi it is better to get a Amp and speakers with Decoder on board rather than the DVD player. You defo need optical or Coax digital connection to the AMP. Have a look at www.techtronics.com for good multiregion dvd players

Spinalize is right - also the Videologic one isn`t the DTS - mistake on Tiny`s site.
I would not jump too quickly - let us know a budget for both surround and DVD. However, from your post it sounds like you have already got/decided on the surround stuff - if so, again let us know what it is.

that is the surround sound i was looking at..unless someone can point out a better one..so i want a DVD player to go with it...

so unless anyone can find a better one....ypur mission should you chose to except it is... to find me a good DVD player and some sunnound sound gear....your budget is 200 - 250 for a dvd player and 350-400 for the sound set up

What`s the name of the surround system - the session has expired and I can`t see which one it is !

i aint sure of the model lol..my net conn is playing up and i cant be arsed to reconnect,,but it is a sony one and the amp is a weeeeeee small thing so cute it is :)
