hi there
just hoiked a older ide pc hard drive out and instaled it in and it works fine

but wiith 2 labels on it, one said 15 g the other one said 10g-- once i formated it with xp it showed up as 10g, no problem but i would rather have a 15 (and why not!)

so is there and program that will show if there are hiden parts to this drive and how to get at them ?

drive is showing up as - quantum fireball lct 15 10

Try AEFdisk (Download it from the main site - ( www.aefdisk.com )

That may identify any partitions and show the true capacity of the drive.

In some instances HP supply a larger driver, that`s been firmware flashed to match the same size of the original (defective) drive, while showing two different size labels.

Its possible to reflash the firmware to show the true size.
