Samsung LE37R87BDX - Opinions?

Mister Smee (Elite) posted this on Friday, 4th January 2008, 14:28

Hi People,

Any opinions on the Samsung LE37R87BDX TV? Can get it for about £520ish.
Review here: http://www.hdtvorg.co.uk/reviews/lcd/Samsung_LE37R87BDX.htm

I`m interested in a HD telly with around £500 to spend and fancy something a little larger than 32". Not too worried about getting 1080p. Sound is unimportant as I have a separate amp.

Mainly for use with Sky (SD not HD at the moment), DVD player (again SD) and the PS3.

It`s replacing my lovely 32" Thomson CRT which is still great but I want that HD feeling on the PS3.

Bloody hell. One of the few threads I`ve started and it`s been hijacked by a flippin` spammer!

While you`re here Dr 42%er, any opinions on the above Sammy TV?

Went and looked at it in Comet today and looked good given the limited feed they were putting into it. I at least got them to put a digital hdmi feed in rather than the RF that was in it at first. I thought the shop assistant`s head was going to explode when I asked if they could put a BluRay feed in it.

I got the Le37 about a year ago and have had no problems at all - in the first month though it really had a slow response time when you hit the remote - but it did an upgrade and it was rectified. The only bummer was it cost me £1200. :¦ back then.

My Toshiba`s remote response is shocking, but it`s hardly ever touched.
You just use the SKY remote.
The only time I need to use the Toshiba one is switching between HDMI (SKY) and component (DVD).

Anyone used prcdirect recently? Still an ok supplier? They seem cheapest for this telly at the moment.
Link
The otehr option is Amazon (reliable but more expensive).

Any opinions on how it compares to the Sony KDL-37P3020?
