Page 1 of Schneider 855 - Need Macrovision Handset Hack!!!

Has anyone got the Schneider 855 Macrovision handset hack?

Its definately in there as looking at the upgrade rom image theres lots of text to support the claim.. And! also I noticed two other functions which enable you to change the "passwords" for the different secret menus! (secret 1 = Region Codes and secret 2 = macrovision)

Has anyone tried to socially engineer this from schneider??? :)

I have been trying to find this also.
Let me know if you have any luck, I don`t really want to sent the player away and fork out £85 to get it chipped!

i might email them as they seemed very help full sending me the upgrade... just need a good enough excuse to ask for it really..

If I find out anything I will post it here... as for excuses I thought about what needs a commercial engineer might need for removing macrovision but cant reallly think of any..... Unless of course they have technical journals you can send for for electronic engineers, I got one from yamaha once for a keyboard and it was nearly the same as the consumer level manual except it had the full circuit schematic with voltages and chip ID and components etc and also self tests and test modes! so who knows!

The reason I want Macrovision turned off is so I can watch a DVD while recording one of the terrestrial TV channels.

This is impossible at the moment as the macrovision kicks in, I can`t connect the DVD directly into TV as the TV doesn`t have a SCART socket.

Is that good enough reason ??
