AAARRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHH so many wires like spaghetti junction!

Just purchased a Wharfedale MD5 and really cannot figure out how to wire the darn thing to everything else, I can get a picture but no sound through HiFi although sound works on TV!!

I have connected thus
Sky Digibox scart to video scart 1
Video scart 2 to TV scart 1
phono leads from video to hifi

all works OK

Now what? surely I dont need to lose the hifi?

Would really appreciate any help guys.

Thanks.

You can buy a switchable scart box for about £14 from Tandy. You put one scart from it to tv and up to three scarts in and select which one you want to take the feed from. You can also select which feed to your video if your dvd is macro free. There are hi-fi inputs too but I`m not using mine at present. You do have to get out of your chair to do this. If you don`t want to get out of your chair you can get a more expensive version with remote control

Thanks didnt really want to go down that route. I tried all sorts of combos today and finally opted for the DVD svideo output into VCR svideo input (JVC DVS1) and it all works fine now, even managed to do a test copy of Fawlty Towers DVD straight through to the SVHS clear as a bell.

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone else that reads this article, I found a really useful web site which details how to connect everything up. I found it invaluable when hooking up a new vcr + NTL Digibox + TV.
Didn`t need a scart from vcr out to TV as it plays thru NTL.
The website is www.whatvideotv.com you have to look up articles and the pictures are really good.
